About the author

Charles H. Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892), the Prince of Preachers, was converted at fifteen in a snowstorm and was pastoring London's largest congregation by twenty-two. His printed sermons fill sixty-three volumes: the largest body of work by a single Christian author in history.

Why our editions

The text is old. The edition is not.

You can find this book free somewhere else, and we will never pretend otherwise: the text belongs to everyone. What you will find is a scan of a scan, broken line breaks and footnotes that go nowhere. What you pay us for is the edition.

Set, not scanned

Every chapter typeset for the screen: real paragraphs, proper quotation marks, no OCR debris.

Complete, unabridged

All 50 chapters. Nothing cut, nothing "adapted", nothing summarized.

A reading room, not a file

Read on any device, keep your place, and it stays in your library forever.
