About the author

E.M. Bounds

Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) was a lawyer, Civil War chaplain and editor who rose at four in the morning to pray. Most of his books on prayer were published after his death, and none of them has ever gone out of print.

Why our editions

The text is old. The edition is not.

You can find this book free somewhere else, and we will never pretend otherwise: the text belongs to everyone. What you will find is a scan of a scan, broken line breaks and footnotes that go nowhere. What you pay us for is the edition.

Set, not scanned

Every chapter typeset for the screen: real paragraphs, proper quotation marks, no OCR debris.

Complete, unabridged

All 16 chapters. Nothing cut, nothing "adapted", nothing summarized.

A reading room, not a file

Read on any device, keep your place, and it stays in your library forever.

Read it before you buy

Chapter one is open to everyone, in the exact edition you would be buying.
